A hub replacement is a set of matching interfaces

The spindle, bearings, seal, hub and wheel need to work together. Start with the identification plate and markings on the existing components. Keep inner and outer bearing identifiers separate rather than treating a trailer's load rating as a complete parts specification.

Build your comparison notes

  • Bearings and races: record both identifiers, including any suffixes, and check the manufacturer pairing.
  • Seals: compare the listed inner diameter, outer diameter and seal design with the required application.
  • Hubs and kits: compare bearing/seal contents, wheel bolt pattern, stud size and whether the listing is an idler hub or includes a braking component.
  • Complete axles: confirm axle type, rating, hub-face and mounting dimensions, and the manufacturer's definition of each measurement.
  • Axle components: identify the individual spindle, nut, cap or other component and check its specified application.

Keep kit contents separate from fitment

A hub kit may include bearings and seals, but the word “kit” does not specify its contents. Check the listing. Similarly, a matching wheel bolt pattern does not establish spindle compatibility.

Hub and bearing buying questions

Is the same bolt pattern enough to choose a hub?

No. Bearings, seal dimensions, spindle compatibility and the intended application must also be confirmed.

Should I use a bearing number or a measured size?

Record both when available. A readable identifier gives a more specific starting point; measurements can help verify it against manufacturer documentation.

Is every axle product a complete axle?

No. This catalog separates complete axles from individual axle components. Check the product title and included parts.
