This rust and corrosion proof all Stainless Steel boat Trailer Leaf Spring U-Bolt kit includes 4 1/2″ long U-Bolts and Stainless Steel Flanged Hex Nuts for fastening to your 2″ x 2″ axle. The flange style nuts allow you to secure the U-Bolts and mounting plates to your trailer axle and leaf springs without needing a set of flat washers and lock washers. The Stainless Steel construction prevents rust in the harsh marine environments, so this is one of the best U-Bolt kits that you can buy for a saltwater boat trailer. The 4 1/2 inch length U-bolts are compatible with a wide range of 2×2 axle and leaf spring combinations, but we also carry a Stainless Steel Leaf Spring Flange Nut U-Bolt Kit 6 5/16 Long for 2 x 3 Axles if you need this same style kit with longer U-bolts.
The kit contains (4) 1/2 x 2 x 4 1/2 inch square Stainless Steel U-Bolts, (2) stainless steel 4 Hole Mounting Plates, and (8) Stainless Steel Flange Nuts. This kit is a perfect replacement for boat trailer U-Bolts and is also suitable for new axle purchases or trailer suspension rebuilds involving leaf springs, equalizer bars, and hangers.
Choosing stainless steel U-bolts prevents rust issues common with raw steel, zinc-plated, or corroded galvanized steel bolts, ultimately saving you money and time on future replacements. To maximize the lifespan and reliability of your U-Bolts, apply a lithium or graphite-based lubricant during installation to prevent galling or threading problems. Hand tools only should be used when tightening U-bolts, and proper threading is essential; avoid using power tools, over-tightening, or tightening too quickly to prevent galling or sticking.
